This project was the development of an old Victorian terrace. The clients developed the rear of the property to include a kitchen extension with large sliding glass doors and added an additional bathroom onto the first floor. Steels allowed for the large open plan concept of the client to be achieved easily and then using additional steels the bathroom extension could be added above the ground floor extension. The pitch roof and large windows for the bathroom allowed an abundance of light into the small north facing room, all made achievable by the steel work.
The largest obstacle with this project was access. With no drive way or access to the rear of the property we utilised a Hiab and fed the steels through the front door of the property into what would be the large open plan kitchen at the rear. Using a Hiab allowed us to get the heavy steels on to site with minimal disruption to the property itself or to the road access and helped the builders get the extremely heavy sections into position.
